Last updated: this is a working draft for the alpha, not yet reviewed by a lawyer. See the note at the bottom.
Player Two connects people for random 1:1 voice conversations based on shared game interests. This policy explains what information is involved when you use it.
Player Two does not collect your phone number, real name, or any user-uploaded images or photos anywhere in the app, by design.
Important: when you're matched with someone, the voice call connects your device directly to theirs (this is called WebRTC peer-to-peer). Our server helps two devices find each other and exchange the technical details needed to connect, but it does not relay, record, or store the audio of your calls.
Because the connection is direct, the person you're matched with can see your device's public IP address for the duration of the call, and you can see theirs. An IP address alone does not reveal your name or home address, but it can reveal your approximate location and, in rare cases, be used to disrupt your internet connection. We're telling you this plainly so you can decide how you feel about it.
While you're actively looking for a match, our server temporarily holds your connection ID and selected game(s) in memory so it can pair you with someone else — this is deleted as soon as you're matched or you close the app, and is not written to any permanent log.
Bios and custom game names you submit are checked against an automated filter before being saved, to block slurs and explicit content. This check happens on our server; we do not use this text for any purpose other than that check and displaying it back to you and your matches.
Player Two is intended for users 18 and older. At profile creation you're asked to affirmatively confirm you meet this requirement. Note: this is self-certification, not ID or age verification — we don't independently verify birthdate yet.
To delete your account and associated data (email, bio, and game selections), contact support@playertwodating.com from the email address on the account (or, for Discord/Google sign-ins, tell us which provider you used) and we'll remove it manually. There is no self-service delete button in the app yet.
We take reasonable steps to protect the information described above, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
We'll update this page if what we collect or how we handle it changes, and update the date at the top.
